Shows: CSCT Presents "The Chalk Garden"
General Information about Center Stage Center Stage Community Theatre of Lebanon is happy to announce its first play of the 2009 season, British playwright Enid Bagnold's The Chalk Garden, a drama with decidedly comic elements. This delightful play was first presented in England in 1955, but was made into a movie in the USA in the 1960's staring Deborah Kerr, Hayley Mills, John Mills, and Dame Edith Evans. It centers around a wealthy and eccentric elderly lady, her very spoiled granddaughter, her beyond eccentric manservant, her disenchanted daughter, and a governess with a very mysterious past. Throw into this mixture a garden on which the elderly lady dotes but in which she fails to grow much because the soil is mostly chalk and you have the title. This production will be presented March 13 through March 29 at CSCT, 604 Powell Street, Lebanon, IN 46052, on each Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm and on Sunday afternoons at 2:30 pm. The tickets are $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for seniors and students. The theatre is handicapped accessible. The play is directed by Sally Dunlap and has an extraordinarily talented cast including: Marty Essig, Kristina McKenzie, Cheryl Fesmire, and Sally Carter of Indianapolis and Sherry Mason, Karen Galvin, Deb Woodings, Darryl Gifford, Elizabeth Nielsen, and Dave Eckard of Boone County. Please call 765-894-5587 for reservations.
